Lucid Stage will be closing

This incarnation of Lucid Stage will be coming to an end as of September 30th, 2012.

The overhead in this location was too costly for a small, non-profit arts center.

Thank you to all who have come to our shows and events, and especially those who volunteered time, and who donated “things” or money to Lucid Stage.

Our success will be measured by how many people were inspired by a performance they saw or a person they met here.

Please support your local artists, arts groups and organizations – they are usually not independently wealthy!

Best wishes,

Liz and the Lucid team

This week at Lucid…

This Friday and Saturday at 8pm, and Sunday at 2pm

Ida LeClair in I Married an Alien!

Be among the first to see this new show by Poolyle Productions, the same team that brought you “In My Head I’m Thin.”

Have you ever looked at your husband and thought, Wait a minute, who is this guy? I mean, what planet is he from? The kicker is, you know there’s times when he’s wonderin’ the exact same thing about you! Ida, “the funniest woman in Maine,” will give you her take on love, marriage and what to do when the double-wide’s feelin’ just a little small for the both of you.

The Women Who Run With the Moose get to throw in their two cents, too, and yes, even Ida’s husband Charlie manages to squeeze a word in edgewise. (No mean feat!) Don’t miss what happens when worlds collide!

“Be prepared to leave the theater with your smile muscles aching.” -Maine Sunday Telegram   “Dry, incisive wit that does Maine humor proud. ” -The Exeter News-Letter   “A seductive storyteller that can hold the audience on her own without so much as raising her voice.” -Casco Bay Weekly

Mini-Workshop Day feedback

“I had a great time visiting the Lucid Stage on Saturday and learning an eclectic mix of things from Texas Hold’em Poker to storytelling to printmaking to a bit of French. I also enjoy a live stage performance and plan to attend The Tempest this week.

Lucid Stage goes beyond this role of providing affordable performance and lets folks like me be part of the arts. Being exposed to others’ passions is infectious–maybe one day I will be juggling and reading Sartre in his native French–while practicing my poker face. Thanks to the Lucid Stage community!”
